Nazem El Khoury has a background in the insurance, reinsurance and the banking sector and is Chairman of the Banque Libanaise Pour Le Commerce Services S.A.L. He was Chairman of BLC Finance a wholly owned subsidiary of Banque Libanaise pour le Commerce (BLC) as well as member of the Board of Directors of BLC Bank. He has established and co-owned a number of insurance and underwriting ventures since the 1970s and has developed an in-depth experience into the operational and financial challenges of business ventures.

Nazem is also a member of the Foreign Affairs, and Education Higher Learning & Culture, Parliamentary Committees in Lebanon.  He has served as a trustee for over two decades on the Boards of the Lebanese American University (L.A.U) and Notre Dame University (N.D.U) and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Major in Public Administration from the American University of Beirut. He is also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute in London.
